In these pages I'm going to share my journey to renovate a beautiful house and its gardens in the hills surrounding the city of Jesi (Iesi) in Le Marche, IItaly. 

My name is Emma. I was born in New Zealand, lived in Australia and for 22 years called the United Kingdom home. I bought my house in Jesi, in February 2023. To live and work in Italy was always a dream: and now that dream is coming true. It's not without its challenges - language and bureaucratic mountains make the process at times overwhelming, but I wouldn't change it. (Ok the bureaucracy yes). 

For 25 years I worked in the corporate world. For years I have dreamed of leaving the hustle and bustle of city life and swapping a desk for a pair of gumboots and garden tools.
